Dear Alexia, you are not alone in this uncertainity. We al have been in this place at a point in our lives. Studying Medicine and becoming a Doctor takes you 5 and 1/2 years. This time frame is considering the fact that you have qualified in NEET in your first attempt and secured a Medical Seat. This year around 15 lakh students appeated for NEET for a total number of 50,000 seats. You can do the math for the competition level. But once you clear NEET and join a Medical college, it is a breathtaking process. Medicine is not for the faint hearted. Cadavers, surgeries, round the clock shifts, immense studies and duties are just the tip of the Iceberg. But if you have passion, nothing really counts. You gain immense respect because you are saving lives each and every day. But lets say MBBS is not your calling, that is not the end of the world. There are B.D.S, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Sciences, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Occupation Therapy, Medical Lab Technology, CardioVascular Technology and Research are among the many options you have. CBSE has released a list of courses that students can pursue after 12th in each stream. You can check the list in their official website.
