Hello, i scored 50.42 percentile in CAT this year do i have any chances of getting into good colleges ?? My academic record:- Graduation with cgpa of 9.85, 12th 84% and 10th 87% Thank you!
Hi Disha,
I will not paint a rosy picture in front of you but with the CAT score that you have achieved, you won’t be able to get into a decent B-School where you can land into a decent salary package after your 2 years of MBA/PGDM. Now, you have two options in hand:
- If you do not have the option of wasting a year for your study and want to get into any B-School that you get, I am listing the B-Schools which are okaiysh and with your percentile, you can expect a call from them
Colleges |
Average Salary Package(in Lakhs Per Annum) |
ITM Navi Mumbai
5.5
Welingkar, Bangalore Campus
6.5
SDMIMD Mysore
6.5
NDIM, Delhi
5.5
Kirloskar Institute of Management Studies,Pune
6
Globsyn Business School, Kolkata
5
SCMS, Cochin

However, if you are really sure of getting into a B-School this year, then you must start preparing for Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. You can also try different exams which are left such as TISS-NET, CMAT, MHCET,MAT and try to do well which will increase your chance of getting into a decent B-School .
2.However, if you choose to try for another year, you may increase your score significantly. But, try to get into some organisation and simultaneously take out time to practice, since colleges and recruiters don’t prefer people with gap years. I guess you are familiar with the concepts of the CAT topics. Now just build on them. Solve as many mocks as possible.
I hope I have been able to solve your query. Do write to us if you have anything to ask and we will be glad to help you out. All the best!!!
