HELLO, I WANNA KNOW WHETHER I'M ELIGIBLE FOR KCET? I HAVE ONLY STUDIED IN KARNATAKA FOR 3 YEARS (6TH, 7TH, 8TH STANDARD). MY MOTHER TONGUE IS HINDI. MY FATHER IS A GOVERNMENT BANKER WHO WORKED IN KARNATAKA FOR 3 YEARS.
According to KCET eligibility criteria, to write KCET the candidate should have either studied minimum of 7 years in Karnataka or should have passed class 11th and 12th from Karnataka. Since you have studied in Karnataka just for 3 years ( class 6,7 and 8) you are not eligible to write KCET. If you are from other state, atleast one of your parent should have a domicile of Karnataka. In that case, you will have to write a separate Kannada exam along with KCET.
Kindly visit the official website of KCET for more details.
Also, if you want to take admission in any private colleges of Karnataka, you can give COMEDK which is also an entrance exam to get admission into private Engineering colleges in Karnataka. The only eligibility criteria for this is that you should have minimum of 50% aggregate score in class 12th PCM subjects. You need not to be studied in Karnataka for giving COMEDK. But as you are going to get private colleges through this, the fee structure would be much higher than KCET. It would be around 2-3 LPA.

I hope this helps
