Dear Aspirant,
The first you must take a mock exam and see how you perform. This will give you an idea of your current level and of the syllabus as well and after that you can generalize your preparation and structure rate according to what you find easy what you find moderate and what you find difficult. after that start your preparation in accordance to that and prepare those topics which you find very hard first and then continue in that order and once you're done with 50% of the syllabus then start giving mock exams regularly. Give anywhere between 20 and 30 mock exams till the exam day.
This is the best way to prepare for CAT exam as the exam is not like other exams in which the syllabus is from your graduation rather the syllabus of CAT exam is just english aptitude and mathematics aptitude and reasoning aptitude which most of us are familiar with. Just buy some books from Arun Sharma and start solving them.

Hii Sheetal,
You can start off by appearing for a mock test conducted free online and assess your performance that'll help you see and judge the areas you need improvement in. You can either go for self study or Prepare with a tutor. For english prep. you can start off with Word Power Made easy. For maths and LR-Di Arun sharma.
