hello im apprearing for neet 2019 ...some are saying the max i need is 119/720 some are saying 520+/720.. how much do i need to qualify?
NEET 2024: Cutoff (OBC, SC, ST & General Category)
NEET 2024 Admission Guidance: Personalised | Study Abroad
NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
The cutoff is different every year and so the safe marks range for admission in any of the government or private colleges can't be predicted this way. However, as per last year -2018s cutoff which was 119 marks out of 720(for UR category), based on which we are expecting the NEET 2019s cutoff to be nearly 119.
Well, this score is just to pass the exam. In order to qualify for the counseling process for admission in the medical stream, your score should be maximum. For a government college, your score should be minimum 520-30+ (if you're applying for 85% state quota seats) and 570+ (for 15% AIQ seats).
Scoring 500+ marks can get you a seat in any of good colleges. And to get admission into your desired college- try to keep high target and prepare accordingly. Practice maximum to score maximum..!
Hope this helps.!
Good Luck.!
If we take into consideration the cutoff of last year, then the minimum marks required to qualify NEET is 119 for Unreserved category in order to get equal or avove 50th percentile and for reserved categories 96 marks are required to get equal or above 40th percentile.By securing the minimum marks you become eligible to participate in the All India Counselling or State Counselling but it doesn't offer any guarantee whether you will get any seat in private or government medical colleges.Of course for government Medical colleges you need to score really good marks in NEET.For All India Quota you need to score above 580+ marks and for state quota you need to score 530+ in NEET.Since NEET also involves private colleges, those with lower scores can also secure seats.A score of about 380 or above will get you a seat in private colleges.
So accordingly prepare for the exam.Just give your best and try to score good marks as it will get you a government seat.
Hope this helps.
Hey Aastha.
The qualifying marks for NEET 2018 for the Unreserved category to be eligible to take admission in any government, private, deemed University was 119/720. But as you would know that admission is done on the basis of merit and your ranks you would require more marks to be able to clear the cut off for varioua good colleges. For admission in Government colleges under the All India quota you would require atleast 560 marks. For admission in Government colleges under the State quota you would require atleast 510+ marks. But this is only an estimate this varies a lot depending upon your state and colleges. For private colleges 450+ would be a safe score. But a few top private colleges have higher cut offs than this. You can let me know the state you belong to or seek admission in for a more accurate reply.
Best of luck
For admission under the 70% seats you'd require above 500 marks for admission in any government college and above 550 marks for admission in Grant Medical College as per previous year trends. For under the 30% seats you'd require above 510 marks for seat in a government college in Maharashtra and above 560 marks for Grant medical college.
It just signifies that you're above the 50th percentile of students who have appeared for the examination in terms of rank and score since the ranks are highly variable and depend mostly on the levels of the question paper and the relative performance of the different candidates in the examination, you are advised to try to score 550+ to target a good govt.medical college seat via 85% state quota and 600+ for getting premier govt medical college seats from other states you dont have domicile in ,availing the15% all india quota
Hope this guides you properly
