Dear Aspirant,
You have asked yourself a very important query. The answer to your question is rather pretty simple. In order to participate in the special round of CSAB Counselling, only those candidates are allowed who have not been allotted any seat in the previous JOSAA rounds of counselling. If you give up the seat of NIT Delhi that you have been allotted in the sixth round counselling, then you won't loose that seat forever. There is no provision for you or anyone to return back to the seat allotted which the candidate had chosen to give up. Once you leave the seat, that seat shall remain vacant or shall be filled up by some other candidate in the next round of counselling, provided the candidate has secured the desired cutoff rank.
I hope you understand the Dynamics of the situation. If you have a received a seat in a round of counselling, I would rather suggest you to stick to it instead of giving it up as the consequences of it are not that good.
But if you want to upgrade your seat, then definitely you should go for the special round of counselling. May be you will get a better Institute.
I hope this information helps.
CSAB special round as per the following eligibility norms:
Candidates who have not registered inJoSAA till now but are eligible based on JEE Main 2020 ranks, will be eligible for participating in the CSAB special rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs) as per JoSAA 2020 / CSAB 2020 rules.
Those who participated in JoSAA and were allotted seats will also be eligible for participating in the Special Rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs).
Those who participated in JoSAA but did not get any seat will also be eligible for participating in the Special Rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs).
Candidates who participated in JoSAA and got a seat in an IIT will also be eligible for participating in the Special Rounds for NITs/IIITs/ other GFTIs (except IITs)
So you can also participate in the special round and you will not lose your allotted Institute on doing so.
