Hello Shweta,
In India, primarily aerospace engineering is the only popular stream untill now in which the degree, master's,doctoral and many other such programs are offered in various educational institutions. BTech. and other programs in Avionics, one of aerospace engineering's branch, are also available, but, inin comparative fewer institutes.Similiar fields include Aeronautics and Astronautics. There is a very good scope of these fields in our country as it is a technical field and requires a lot of technical knowledge, which we don't get to experience much in our country because most of the people with such technical understanding move to other countries. Our country is a developing country and so development in all sectors and especially in the technical sectors like these in the forthcoming years is almost guaranteed, which would increase the job opportunities in aerospace engineering and it's branches. ISRO, Department of Space of Indian Government, Department of defence are the places where someone qualified and skilled can apply and aspire for a well paying government job and especially for women, this field has a lot to give because female aerospace engineers or female aerospace scientists are very less in number.
In the foreign lands, again, aerospace, avionics, aeronautics, astronautics, all have a large scope.Actually this is the very beauty of science,it never ends, there is always something to innovate, there is always a scope for improvement, development or a discovery.Of course, one has more options abroad, there is JAXA,NASA,Roscosmos,ESA,CNSA,etc which are the world's leading space organization. In these organisations also, the female ratio is very less and those who are working in these fields, mostly don't belong to the technical department, hence, for women these fields offer a lot to prosper.
Nothing is true what all others are saying about aerospace engineering. "There is much scope for aerospace industry rather than aerospace engineering graduates", since it is inter disciplinary industry so many other can be absorbed rather than aero guys in India. In core 98% u won't get job in India & no Gov't jobs are offered to aerospace engineers. In foreign u can hope better than india, they do have different curriculum but somewhat difficult than Indian. But remember you will be treated as non local guy for jobs in foreign countries, since local citizens have first priority. But u can try for internships if u were completed ur degree in those countries with good academics, later U'll get few more chances to get jobs based on un experience. But it is very better if u choose other departments rather than aero.
College Comparison based on Courses, Placement, Rank, Fee
hi,
see if you are really interested to learn any particular area of studies and have passionate about it, you can grow definitely in that field, see aerospace engineering is taught in some few institutes in india, and there is less chances for any core related jobs if you dont study aerospace engineering from iits or nits or top tier institute in india. however in abroad countries like russia, japan has many research labs and further doctoral research options for aerospace engineering compare to india.
Hi Shweta,
To be honest the scope of Aerospace Industry is less in India. Also even the minimal chances for candidates who had pursued Aerospace Engineering are diminished as most of these industires rather allow a mechanical Engineer graduate as their employee. To increase your scope of career in this field you should pursue Masters after completion of B.Tech Aerospace Engineering and if you are financially sound then prefer going abroad.
