I think that people who can write and speak well will always be in demand. These are the skills that one learns as an English major. There are of course the traditional jobs such as editing or proofreading that specifically target people with an English background, but you can also work in insurance, real estate, etc. I have a BA in English and I am currently in graduate school to become a Mental Health Counsellor. I think it’s just a matter of keeping an open mind and looking for opportunity where you can find it.
