Hi Nikhil,
Agri-Business Management is a very good option to consider. The best option according to me which you have is getting into the Agri-Business Management program in any of the IIMs. Currently, two IIMs have Agri-Business Management programs.
1. Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agri-Business Management (PGP-FABM), IIM Ahmedabad
The PGP-FABM programme has been ranked as the world's best by EDUNIVERSAL BEST MASTERS RANKING IN AGRI-BUSINESS/FOOD INDUSTRY in 20018. You will get multiple benefits by enrolling this program. First, you will get the tag of IIM Ahmedabad which is India's best management institute. Second, you will get a very competitive environment and peers which will enhance your learnings. Third, PGP-FABM program has all but one courses in 1st year same as that of PGP (Post Graduate Programme in Management) students which will give you an equal opportunity in learning general management as well.
2. Post Graduate Programme in Agri-Business Management (PGP-ABM), IIM Lucknow
This program is also ranked as one of the world's best Agri-Business program. Here also, you will learn with highly competitive peers which will enhance your learnings and you will also get opportunities to learn general management along with the normal management students.
To enrol in any of these programs, you will have to write the CAT (Common Admission Test) exam conducted by IIMs which will be followed by the separate interviews and writing ability tests for every IIM if you are shortlisted for the same.
The preparation for the CAT involves two aspects, Speed and Accuracy. First, you need to learn the concepts in each of the three sections i.e. Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and then practice a lot with the timer to increase your speed. Interviews mainly focus on academics if you don't have any work experience. There can be other questions in the interview about you and your ability and willingness to join the program. The key is that you should at least know all the things which are directly related to you. In the academics, usually, they ask you any one or two favourite subjects in undergrad and ask questions accordingly.
