It is based on various factors such as the number of students appeared, the difficulty of the GATE paper, number of vacancies, etc. There are more than 45 PSUs which recruit students based on their GATE scores.

GATE 2019:

The GATE 2019 was organized by IIT madras this year. The exam was held on February 2,3,9 and 10 2019. The results and qualifying scores were released on March 15 2019. PSUs recruit students based on GATE scores but it is highly competitive as large number of appliants compete for the few vacancies available.The cut-off requirement for PSUs differfrom PSU to PSU for each category. Age limitis also taken into consideration. This also differs from PSU to PSU.
