Its totally upto you whether you want to join the college you are getting or you want to study more one year and give your best next year get a seat in top engineering college.Think wisely and also talk to your family what they want.If your financial condition is good then take a drip and prepare gard next year and you will definitely get a good college.

Your 10+2 boards marks is really impressive. But with 73 percentile in JEE mains, you cannot take admission in any good colleges through JoSAA counselling. To predict your college, you can use

Dropping a year should be your last option with the least priority. Before that try your best to crack other exams and take admission in other colleges. If your only wish is to go to thapar university, then you can drop this year and prepare for JEE main again as Thapar accepts only the marks of JEE main.
