Hi Aspirant,
At the end, you have mentioned that you want to become an IAS officer. Few things you should know which definitely clear your doubts regarding your career are:
- It doesn't matter from which stream in class 11 & 12 you had studied, just focus on preparing to become an IAS.
- It doesn't matter which graduation you opt like BSc, Engineering etc. you're eligible to apply.
- You can opt any college/course for your graduation as per your eligibility criteria and as per your convenience, because at the end you have to give the Exam- UPSE IAS/ Civil services exam to pursue your career as IAS.
- All you need to be a graduate student to apply for civil services exam.
- DU and IIT, both are the best option to pursue career in required fields, both have their own benefits in terms of education and placements.
- Now you just have to decide in which college you want to take admission also don't forget to apply for JEE MAIN 2021 to eligible for good engineering colleges. As IAS is next step after having graduation degree.
- You can visit the link given below regarding the details of JEE MAIN 2021 - https://learn.careers360.com/engineering/jee-main/

Hello,
First of there is no such restriction about belonging to specific stream when it comes to eligibility criteria for upsc, you need to pass bachelor's degree in any disicpline from a recognized university, it's also good to have back-up plan when you have aspirations for upsc, if you look at past year toppers many of them come from engineering backgrounds, few of them cracked the exam while working only, but then each one is different, so what works for somebody might not be the same in your case, remember that irrespective of the stream you do graduation in, you'll be eventually eligible to appear for upsc exam, now if at this moment you aren't sure, you can choose a field of your interest, go for it, earn few years of work experiences, and this is something that will also help you understand what do you really want in life, whatever decision you take, choose it wisely, give yourself enough time, you can discuss these with your parents as well, graduation isn't just only about earning a degree, or landing a job, but you will also spend your precious three or four years of your life there, hence it's vital you go for where you find your interest.
Hi Dear,
If you have physics, chemistry and mathematics in you 10+2, and if you have interest in engineering then best will be to get into an IIT. And if you do not have interest in engineering then you can go for graduation from University of Delhi from the subject of your interest or in subjects which will help you in IAS. Either way You can start preparing for IAS along with your graduation.
Good Luck
