hello sir/madam, my question is that can someone be eligible to sit for National eligibility test after passing masters from distance mode of a recognised University?
Hello Aspirant,
The UGC committee announces the eligibility criteria for NET examination.UGC NET 2020 Eligibility criteria is different for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professorship . During the time of online application form filling, candidates have to mention and specify in the registration form that if they want to apply only for only one stream or both, JRF and Asst. Prof.
So, according to the eligibility criteria, any candidate who has scored minimum of 55% in his Master's degree can apply for NET examination. Also, you are in Master's degree final year then also you can give the examination. The Candidates who have scored 55 % minimum and have studied from an equivalent or a recognized universities in Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc. are eligible for this test. So, now if you have studied from a university from a distance course, then your university should be recognized by the Government of India.
For more information and details, you can visit the official website of UGC NET.
Hope that helps. Good luck
