Hello ! This is Deepak i scored 58 % in My 12th PCM and and more than 60% in English. can i join merchant navy or not if yes then what courses should i take .. please Help me out from this am applicable or not.

After completing class 10th, you will be eligible to apply for following merchant navy courses:
- NCV (Near Coastal Voyage)
- Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)
- Commercial Diving
- G.P Rating
After completing class 12th, you will be eligible to apply for following merchant navy courses:
- B.Sc in Nautical Science
- B.Sc in Marine Catering
- B.E/B.Tech in Marine Engineering
- B.E Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering
- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- B.E Harbour and Ocean Engineering
- B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- B.E / B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Electro-Technical Officer Course
All these eligibility criteria to join merchant navy are:
- Finishing class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Maths with at least 60% in PCM.
- Candidate should be unmarried Indian citizen (male or female).
- Age should be between 17 to 25 .
- Physical fitness is most important for career in merchant navy. A fitness certificate is necessary from registered medical practitioner for admission in this course.
- Normal eyesight and glasses up to + or - 2.5 maybe allowed but colour blindness is not permitted.
- Admission will be done by entrance exam which is then followed by screening test and main written examination .
- After clearing the test, there will be an interview round and medical test .
- Have to complete ship training course.
