Your first question regarding BEd in DU
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a full time two year programme , offered by the Faculty of Education,
University of Delhi at four institutions:
1. Department of Education (Central Institute of Education - CIE)
2. Lady Irwin College ( LIC)*
3. Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE)
4. Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for women (SPMC)
Lady Irwin College (LIC) and Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women (SPMC) are exclusively for
women. Only women candidates can apply to LIC and SPMC.
LIC offers B.Ed. only with Home Science as a teaching subject.
Department of Education (CIE) and Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE) are co-educational
institutions.
Eligibility Conditions for B.Ed. Programme
Candidates must fulfill both Part A and Part B of the eligibility conditions.
A. Minimum Qualifying Marks
Category-I: Candidates with at least 50% marks in aggregate either in Bachelor’s Degree and / or in the Master’s Degree in Science / Social Science /Humanities/ Commerce or any other qualification equivalent there to are eligible for admission to the programme.
Category-II: Candidates with at least 55% marks in aggregate in Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology and specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to the programme.
There will be a common merit list based on the Online Entrance test.
B. Eligibility for choosing Subject Category and Teaching Subject
The candidate will have to choose one subject category and only one subject (within the
subject category) which she/he must have studied in the qualifying degree i.e.
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree for at least 200 marks and obtained at least 50%
marks in this subject.
This subject category chosen by the candidate will be considered final for preparing merit list
and allocation of institutions and will be considered as
the teaching subject and will remain to be the same throughout the B.Ed. programme.
Now, coming to your second question regarding MCom admission in DU
The M.Com eligibility criteria for the University of Delhi varies on the basis of the entrance exam and direct admission.
Category A-
DU M.Com Direct Admission/ Merit List Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following to be eligible for direct admissions:
B.Com (Pass) or B.Com (Degree) / B.Com ( Hons)
Marks Required for B.Com ( Hons) Students: General category must have secured 65% marks in B.Com( Hons) whereas for OBC the aggregate is 58.5% and for SC/ST candidates is 60%
Marks Required for B.Com ( pass)/ B.Com ( degree) Students: General category students require a pass percentage of 70 %, OBC students require 63% and SC/ST candidates require 65% aggregate to be eligible for direct admission.
Category B –
B.com (Hons)/ B.Com ( Pass) or B.Com (Degree) / B.A. (Hons) Economics/ B.B.A./ B.B.S./ B.I.F.A./B.B.E.
Candidates with B.Com (Hons) degree belonging to General category require 50% marks, OBC students require 45% and SC/ST candidates require CW & PWD candidates require 45% aggregate
Candidates with B.Com (Pass)/ B.Com (Degree) of General category require 55% marks, OBC students require 49.5% and SC/ST candidates require CW & PWD candidates require 50% aggregate
Candidates with B.A. (Hons.) Economics of General category require 60% marks, OBC students require 54% and SC/ST candidates require CW & PWD candidates require 55% aggregate
Note: SC & ST students require minimum passing marks of the qualifying examination concerned of University of Delhi.
