Hey everyone . Happy D.P for u all. I just wanna ask that can I get into IIMs with average academic and non recognize graduate institution.
Since you have avergae marks in class X and Class XII, you have to focus on minimum 99 percentile in CAT.
If you're havibg any work experience that shall be advantage.
Make sure you join coaching Institute for CAT preparation for 2018, from TIME, CPLC, IMS, Careerlauncher (anyone of them ).
Moreover, with good practice and revision and giving ample of mock exams you're Eligibility to go into IIMs becomes sureshot.
All the best.
There are also some of the colleges like which doesn't give weightage to academic marks, it's distribution is 85% CAT marks, 10% interview and 5% extempore. But for this you need to score atleast above 99.7 percentile.
Also as you are doing b.sc so you will get an extra marks in aggregate score and generally get call for interview at a lower percentile as compared to engineers.
So in short yes you can definitely get into IIMs. You only need to aim for a very high percentile in CAT exam.
All the best for your preparations and exams!!
Different IIMs give different weightagest to academics and a bad score in one part can be compensated by a good percentile.
Also being a Non-engineering students you will get extra marks for your diversity factor. You should not except a call from IIM Indore and IIM Shillong owing to their minimum percentage criterion.
You can get calls from top iims depending on your profile and from New and newest IIMs they give an interview call on a percentile of 96% irrespective of your score.
All the Best!
I'll tell you a story about one of my friends. His scorecard was more or less similar as yours. He gave cat and scored 99.87 percentile last year and now he is doing MBA from FMS, one of the premiere institute of India. I want to say that don't bother about your past. It's better to start focus on your present and future. Try to score decent score in graduation and if you are really passionate about doing MBA then study hard for Cat. There are many colleges which don't consider marks. So my advice is that stop bothering about you past, hit the future.
All the best.
