sireeshamurthy23 , From some research on internet I found that for a ECE student c, cpp and java are important. And there is no need for advance java but C and C++ are more needed to be advanced for as a ECE students.

In Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) the core subjects are like semiconductor devices , signals and systems. But there is also some part of programming languages that come in 1st and 2nd year.

in 1st year you encounter with PPS ( Programming for Problem Solving ) i.e. C language and in 2nd year you will encounter with DSA ( Data Structure and Algorithms ) .Also during your some of trainings you will encounter with MATLAB .This is also good language .

But strictly speaking as an ECE student if you want to focus your carrer on software side then you must know C , C++ , Java and DSA .
