Hello

Unlike MBBS , in which you have to qualify NEET UG to be able to get admission abroad for MBBS, in PG there is no requirement to qualify NEET PG first. You can directly do a PG abroad but there are a few conditions attached. MCI recognizes the PG degree from only 5 countries which are USA,UK,New Zealand, Australia and Canada. If you want to do your PG in USA you only have to give USMLE which is a Multi stage exam and requires travel to USA. Compared to it NEET PG is a single step exam (and is not that expensive) so you can give it to if you want to.

Alternatively, you can also apply for PG in UK (which is a very good option for Indians) for which you will have to give PLAB exam.

Hi. The eligibility of USMLE is as follows:

  • To be eligible to take USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 2 CS: You must be a medical student who is officially enrolled in, or a graduate of, a U.S. or Canadian medical school program leading to an MD degree that’s accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). Or you need to be a medical student who is officially enrolled in, or a graduate of, a U.S. medical school leading to a DO degree that is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • To be eligible to take USMLE Step 3: Before submitting your application, you must obtain an MD degree (or its equivalent) or a DO degree from a U.S. or Canadian medical school that is accredited by the LCME or the AOA, and you must pass Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 2 CS.
  • Student is officially enrolled in, or a graduate of, a medical school outside the US and Canada listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) which meets ECFMG eligibility requirements & criteria. [WDOMS listed medical schools outside US & Canada & meeting ECFMG criteria]
  • The ECFMG criteria is: "International medical students/graduates who wish to pursue ECFMG Certification must submit an Application for ECFMG Certification. The Application for ECFMG Certification consists of an on-line application and the Certification of Identification Form (Form 186) available through ECFMG's Interactive Web Applications (IWA). The Application for ECFMG Certification requires applicants to confirm their identity, contact information, and graduation from or enrollment in a medical school that is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools ( World Directory ) as meeting eligibility requirements for its students and graduates to apply to ECFMG for ECFMG Certification and examination.
