You have not mention the name of the college about which you want to know.

Different colleges have their own criterion and rules regarding branch change process. Most colleges allow branch change after the completion of first year. It depends on two factors.

1. College fixes a minimum CGPA or percentage that the student must get in order to participate in the branch change process.
2. It depends on the number of seats in the college in particular branch.

Please mention the name of that particular college.

If you are studying in the 1st year of engineering course and want to change the branch after completing 1st year of engineering  then you need CGPA in the first year is minimum 8.5 or above and there are no backlog in any paper of 1st year.

If you satisfy the above eligibility criteria then you can change the branch after completing 1st year of engineering.
