Hey! What are the subjects/courses under BA Programme? Can we choose them ourselves? Like I want to have Political Science and Sociology together.

Hey Manya!

Since you are referring to University of Delhi(DU) SOL, you can apply for BA programmes offered by DU in various subject options which are specified and are available and provided by University of Delhi(DU) SOL. Also, yes you have to choose the course you want yourself. You have certain options and you will have to select the course you want to study and get yourself enrolled in by yourself. You may check out the link provided below through which you can know about the various courses offered by DU School of Open Learning and their  durations.

Hope it helps!

Hi,

There are many subjects and combinations in Bachelor’s of Arts Course. Also you can do honours in one subject. The subject in BA are History, Geography, Hindi,English, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Sanskrit and other regional languages.

Also you can choose the groups of subjects available in that college like

1) History, Political Science

2) Economics, Geography

3) Political Science, English

And also other combinations .You can choose groups which you want.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

I hope you are doing fine, You absolutely can! That is the beauty of these subjects- they can be interlinked and can stand independently as well. Most commonly grouped subjects are economics, psychology and sociology. Each gives you insight into some social aspect of an individual- relationship with others, with money and work, with oneself etc.

Which subject combination is best for BA Programme?

Here are a few courses/combinations that will hold you in good stead:
  • BA Economics (Hons) This course allows students to understand any economy in the world and, more specifically, an economy like India.
  • Political science, philosophy, economics.
  • Journalism, psychology and elective English.

I would really insist on taking subjects that you like rather than what is usually expected of you.

I hope you find this information helpful. I wish you all the best for your future.

Good Luck
