University Of Madras is a state university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was established in the year 1857. It comes under one of the oldest universities in India.
University is a collegiate university. It has six campuses in the city namely

- Marina
- Guindy
- Taramani
- Maduravoyal
- Chetpet
The university offers courses in over 230 programs and there are approximately 87 departments which are further grouped into 19 schools. University provides degree in manifold courses from science, social science, humanities, arts to management and medical sciences.
