First of all congratulations for securing such a good rank in KIITEE exam .

Since KIITEE is a free entrance examination, many people from different parts of the country apply to give it a try, even those students who may not pursue B.Tech .Moreover the exam is conducted all over the country so the figure might be in lakhs (around 2-3 lakh).

873 is a very good rank since you can choose any branch of your choice. The closing rank of CSE is around 4k-5k so you can expect the other branches also easily as well.

Since you have got a rank within 1000,you will be eligible for the KIITEE merit scholarship. Under this scholarship you will be receiving Rs10,000 every month i.e Rs 4,80,000 in these four years B.Tech programme if you join KIIT and only if the Rank mentioned by you is your general rank.(please note that if you avail this scholarship then you won't be able to avail any other scholarship sponsored by KIIT. )

Since the form of KIIT is free more than lakh students appear in the exam.

You will definitely be getting cse branch as last year in 2018 cs branch seats got closed at the rank of 5k.

Since you are getting CSE you can get any other branch also as per your interest.
