A total 15% of sanctioned strength (over and above of the total seats)  are reserved for Foreign Nationals and NRI students in Thappar University.

There is no entrance exam for seeking admission to NRI candidates.

Out of the 12 specializations, the most opted stream at the institute is Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). To get admission into the B.Tech Programme, a general category candidate has to obtain minimum JEE Main percentile of 98.67 for the CSE branch.

Sponsorship Affidavit, personal information and Visa along with other documents are needed for NRI Students during admission.
