Dear Mr. Bain, you haven't mentioned the University you would like to seek admission in Ph.d in European Studies from. Pondicherry University has Ph.d in European Studies. We found this clause for your reference:

'Non-Resident Indians/Foreigners residing/working abroad and working in Academics/reasearch/industry at least for 10 years after acquiring the qualifying degree are exempted from appearing for the Entrance Examination. Instead, thry shall give a seminar either in person via video conference to the  Admission Committee. This committe will evaluate if the exemption can be made. NRI and Foreign Candidates with enormous professional experiences and proven research aptitude exhibited through publications will be considered under this clause'.

Going by this you should be exempted from appearing for the Entrance Examination. However, if you wish to, you can reach out to them at academictwo@gmail.com

Thank you ever so much. Can you tell me what is the policy for students with dyslexia?

There seems to be reservation for PWD (Persons with Disability) category. Physical deformities like Locomotor, Visual, Spinal, deformities, Mental illness like Cerebral Palsy,  fall under this category. But dyslexia being a learning disability and more at an intellectual level it doesnt fit in this category. Having said that every University has its set criteria and its affliated colleges follow that. Now JNU has been granted Autonomy, it can take its own call. May be those 2 contacts can help you.

Hi, Yes. That was my code name behind the iron curtain in 1988. Its a long time ago. I live in Delhi (Faridabad). Pondicherry is far for me, even if I know Dr. Kiran Bedi. I would prefer JNU, the department of Euroepan Studies has already accepted my applictation and topic subjet to my getting through the admissions procedure.
