HI, I AM A QUALIFIED COMPANY SECRETARY WITH 6 YEARS OF PRACTISE EXPERIENCE. I WANT TO PURSUE PHD . PLEASE TELL WHETHER I CAN DIRECT TAKE ADMISSION OR I HAVE TO GIVE ENTRANCE TEST THORUGH NET? I WANT TO PURSUE IT FROM DELHI AND NEAR BY.

Yes, you can pursue PHD. Eligibility Criteria for PhD varies for University to University. Some general points are given below:

  • Masters degree with higher than average percentage (differs from University to University). For some subjects, even MPhil is required.
  • Most of the reputable universities, a candidate must qualify the all India examination, like National Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET) conducted by NTA.
  • There is also an interview followed by written exam if needed.

I HEARD THAT SOME UNIVERSITIES LIKE CCS UNV. , IP UNIV. GIVES DIRECT ADMISSION IN PHD TO COMPANY SECRETARIES AS THEY RECOGNISED THE DEGREE EQUAVALENT TO M.PHIL. PLEASE ADVISE
