Hi I am b.com graduate from c.u. I want to know which management course is better for me it's financial management or financ and banking.
Financial Management is a vital activity in any organization. It is the process of planning, organizing, controlling and monitoring financial resources with a view to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
While both are part of finance but accounting and financial management have their own differences, which sets them apart from each other. While accounting revolves around reporting financialtransactions where as financial management is about managing the Company's resources formanaging future growth.
Thanks,
Azim
Hi,
Well the choice of field in MBA is probably the best, as Finance is a field in demand as of 2018. But the minimum criteria for CAT is 50+ in graduation.
you can also try giving SNAP, MAT, CMAT. This can be your way towards MBA in finance.
But you need to study harder and also perform well in GD and PI rounds so as to increase your chances of getting selected in MBA college.
Wish you all the best.
Since you have a bachelors in commerce you would be well versed with accounting and finance. Yes a career in finance will be the right fit. However if you are aiming at top B schools in India, a general management program with major in finance from any of the too B schools is better than a specialised program from a normal MBA college.
So i suggest you to work and crack it into IIMs and pursue the Finance domain as major.
After MVA both Finance & Banking and financial management will give you similar packages and similar roles. However with banking you would be moving towards a niche sector but in financial management you will be open for larger opportunities. Personally, I would do financial management in this case to keep my options open.
