hi , i am expecting 87 percentile in cat and i will have 2 years of work experience till this april and my graduation score is 76.80 . 10 th and 12 th marks are 81.70 and 73.50 respectively. If i get a call from KJ Somaiya, would i be able to ace it with decent GD PI ??
Hello Aspirant,
Congratulations on your CAT Percentile. You should have your pick of some very good colleges. And KJ Somaiya institute is one of them surely. According to online sources, the cut-off is somewhere around 85 percentile and you should be able to make the cut.
When it comes to 10th and 12th standard marks, most institutes have a bracket or a threshold above which they accept the marks and your marks fall within that bracket. Although a student scoring 85 above might get a bit of an edge but you can definitely make up for it with a stellar performance in GD PI rounds.
Your work experience of 2 years is an excellent advantage. 2 years is just the right amount of experience - neither too less nor too much. It ensures that you have had just the right amount of corporate experience before taking the step towards doing an MBA.
Do keep a few things in mind for the GD PI process in order to ace it (for any college)-
1. Work on your profile - Think of any situations they might put you in and prepare beforehand for all possibilities. Most students get stuck in GK and dont work thoroughly on their profile. Since you have a good workex you can expect a lot of questions from there. Know your resume inside out.
2. Be aware of current affairs and business scenario - Awareness about the world impresses panelists like nothing else.
3. Present your projects and achievements in the best light - Make sure to package everything in your profile nicely to make sure it is appealing for the panelists.
Just be confident and you should be able to sail through!
All the best!
