Be you a dropper or a fresher, you have 11 months to study, revise and practise questions.
You must have definitely followed the NEET 2019 Result fiasco.
You are lucky. You should not be afraid and rather focus on a score you are aiming for. Though 11 months and 0 to 650 look difficult, take it up as a challenge!!
As simple as it gets, start from tomorrow/today itself!!! Start with smaller timeframe like 4-5 hours and make sure to gradually increase it to 10–12 hours daily which can be carefully squeezed from a day's time.
I am no expert, but these habits are a must for getting more than 650/720
Meditation. Do not ignore this. This is the key to develope good focus and bring peace to your already troubled mind with many thoughts running through it at a time
Write down a carefully thought, regularised schedule that includes awaking at 5 or 5:30 AM sharp, stretching and exercising a bit then hit the study table hard. (Start slowly like 6:30 or 7 AM if you wake up later than that)
Do use social media. You read that correct. You may use social media but keep a timing for it. Be it Quora/YouTube or anything, set a time limit for it like 1 hr a day or so. Social media has a draining effect and distracts you. Make sure you enjoy it only in short bursts like 15 min and thus completing the day's 1 or 1.5 hrs. Never use continously for even 30 min or so!! You might even read something good. It even freshens up your mind.
The study related tips:
Biology: Since you have around 11 months only, you must finish the vast biology portion (reading + MCQ's) atleast once by mid August, 2019 or earlier.
NCERT XI +XII each and every line to be read as much as possible times. NEET is a competitive exam and nothing done is enough, so just read, remember and revise the NCERT as much as possible. Highlight keywords, numbers, small details, add short notes to NCERT as “added info".
Apart from that you need to practise MCQ's also, never ignore this part in biology. For MCQ's refer to ‘MTG NCERT At Your Fingertips: Biology' for NEET. This book has really good MCQ's and questions that make you think that you have never read the book properly.
After finishing reading and remembering a chapter, immediately solve it's MCQ's. Mark those which you found tough or a bit out of the book. Write those down in the NCERT itself so that when you read NCERT again, you will definitely go through that added info. By doing all of this, you are guaranteed atleast 330/360 in biology.
Chemistry: Unlike biology, this subject also requires fair amount of problem solving skills. This subject feels like you may know it, but when it can fool you and give you -1 instead of +4 you never know. Be alert in this subject.
Again like biology, you MUST read and revise the NCERT XI + XII Chemistry. Every minor detail, hidden GR, some random chemical behaviour given in corner of the TB, every structure, literally everything must be covered by you. Leave nothing in the book or it will cost you dearly. See the past NEET papers (esp. 2019) and you will get the idea.
Chemistry will require to byheart reactions, chemical structures, formulae and chemical nature. Do not shy away from learning and do as much as possible. Since it is NEET, for solving you would require only Coaching Material for eg Booklets of Allen/Aakash etc.
Make a formulae book for all chapters that also include some important details you would not like to miss.
Physics: Now this subject checks how well you have really prepared for NEET. Keep aside 2019, the paper will never be as easy so buckle up!!
Before jumping on to solve the questions of booklets or even NCERT first and foremost do go through the theory wonderfully given in the NCERT. Do not rely on theory given in coaching modules. Little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Read full, know full and score the best. People may lose marks in Physics only because :
Solving mistakes
Lack of knowledge/half knowledge like of the concept involved.
If you are not able to solve, then first go through the solution. Understand it, practice it twice thrice and kill the doubt in it!! However, out of laziness, never make it a habit. Always attempt a question first. This is the right attitude for an exam where you won't have solutions to look at before solving!! By doing this, you improve your problem solving skills, reduce your fear and finally, take less time to solve a question as your practice exponentially increases.
The books I would suggest is NCERT + Cengage physics for JEE MAIN/NEET By BM Sharma. This fat book contains derivation for concepts, short tricks and lots and lots and lots of variety of questions , each with solutions for all chapters. You would absolutely love it. Do it and you would get alteast 165/180 in Physics. Or maybe even 180/180
Do make a formulae book for all chapters. Also, just go through the blue boxes within as well as those after the chapter (NCERT) for clarification or some extra knowledge that might be useful to solve. The must do parts of Cengage physics are:
Solved illustrations.
Solved MCQ's after the chapter.
Application based questions given as small box inside the chapters.
I repeat that you have 11 months to achieve what you can. Solve atleast 7 NEET full tests with all this. (Of Allen specifically)
My final advise is: Always be in it (the neet prep mode) every single living minute of your life till May 2020. You can surely enjoy, but never do it at the cost of your studies.
