See usually the state boards don't differentiate much regarding the subject types classified by CBSE. As you have Mathematics as one of the subjects in your 10th, then you have maximum possibility to get admission with PCM combination in state board school.
I would suggest you to contact the school you want to take admission & check there eligibility conditions for the PCM in order to get sure about it. Also, you can take PCBM combination as well (if the PCM isn't offered by your institution).
I hope this answer provides you some insight. Wish you a great day!
Hello Aspirant,
Yes you are that with Basic Mathematics in class 10th you cannot opt for PCM stream in class 11th and 12th and without PCM you cannot appear for JEE-Main, so one should go for Standard Mathematics if he/she wants to take PCM in class 11th and 12th especially in CBSE board.
Now, what you can do is you can take part in some other state board if you are ok with it and also you don't have any other option except repeating class 10th with standard Mathematics. If you opt PCM stream in class 11th an d12th from any recognized state board then also you will be eligible for JEE-Main.
For your reference JEE-Main eligibility criteria is mentioned below :-
1--- Age criteria :- There is no age limit to appear in JEE-Main but note that there might be the age limit in any particular institution taking admission through JEE-Main score, so you should keep this thing in mind.
2--- Qualifying Examination :- To be eligible for JEE-Main one should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject from any of the recognized central or state board.
3--- Year of qualification :- For JEE-Main 2022 only those candidates who have passed Class 12 / equivalent examination in 2020, 2021 or 2022; or those who will be appearing in Class 12th / equivalent examination in 2022, would be eligible to appear.
