Hello Nithish,
I would suggest you not to take gap in education for more than 1 year, as it may affect your placements after graduation and post graduation. I would recommend you to take the course that suits you the most and the subject that you desire for as your career option. If you want to pursue your career in Engineering, the best colleges are IIMs. The admissions to all national and state level colleges take through entrance exam of JEE Main and Advance, besides state level CETs for few of the private and state owned colleges. Apart from that, below mentioned colleges are also one of the best colleges in India:

5. Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai
6. International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore and Hyderabad

8. National Institute of Technology (All of these are considered for engineering after IITs)

Hii Nithish
Congratulations on getting such a great score in
your class 12th boards examinations.
You can pursue Bachelor's of sciences any of the particular subject you like very much or have interest in some other courses or vocational courses or proffesional courses offered by the University of Delhi , Mumbai university or even Jamia Millia Islamia university .
You have a wide option of either continuing being a science student or shift to commerce or even humanities in that case .
For engineering the best place to study is the IIT's /NIT's / JMI/DTU etc. you can get through them by scoring more than 200 in Jee Mains as well as in JEE advanced . You can visit our site for a detailed information regarding any query of yours regarding any College / university for any course .
Gap years mean a lot if that gap year couldn't fetch you a college worth studying in for making a career ahead .For eg if you drop for JEE and prepare for it the whole year but you couldn't make it to an IIT instead you end up doing Btech from a private un reputed college ,then your gap year was fruitless and can create a problem .
Hope it helps
Thanks
