If we look upon the stats of previous years for VIT chennai in the field of CS then we can infer that CS generally closed at a rank of 33000 in year 2015 but this rank declined to 14000 in 2016 due to sudden rise in the demand of the branch.

So, we can't be that much sure whether you can crack cs in cheenai or not.

If by any chance you are not able to crack CS, there are many other branches in both  main campus and Cheenai campus that you can opt. Diversed branches too can be given a look at as their future application is what the market will be  in later decade.

See with this rank u might get seat in the CSE branch in the Chennai campus for pursuing ur higher studie in btech. U can also take admission through management quota for ur desired branch and desired campus for ur btech career.
