Hi. I got AIR 269, 791 score in gate EC 2019. I belong to general category, can i expect any PSUs

Congratulations first of all! You have a good score but you cannot expect a call from every PSU. From PSUs altogether, only a few seats are released every year for the ECE GATE qualified students when compared to all other branches. So it will depend on cutoffs decided according to the number of applicants and the GATE performance by the candidates. According to the previous years' trends, this is a borderline score. So you shouldn't have high hopes for getting into a maharatna or navratna PSU. You can apply for a few miniratna PSUs though chances are less. You can also apply for CEL, as they release a good number of posts for the ECE candidates or also to any other state or national PSUs as per their release of posts.

PSUs may specify other eligibility criteria like physical specifications(height, weight etc), age limit, graduation CGPA etc along with the GATE score for shortlisting purpose.

Apart from this, for all these PSUs you have to clear the rounds conducted by them until the final selection. Further selection rounds include Online written tests, GD or Personal Interview. Although a good GATE score matters for shortlisting but the final results will be decided based on the performance in the further rounds.

Congratulations on ur very good performance in the GATE entrance exam. See the rank u have got is good for u to apply for a call from the PSUs for ur job career. If u want to pursue ur higher studies in the field of ur interest u can also opt that in any of the good IITs.
