Hi, i have completed graduation(bcom) in 2020 from an average college, and now i am wondering to make career switch by pursuing graduation again in BA hons(economics) from delhi university for better placements and to get into consulting, banking&finance. Please give career advice regarding this.
Hello,
If you're looking for better advancements in career, then there is no need to repeat graduation, you can also pursue your higher studies such as MCom or even better a professional degree such as MBA, you may come from an average school, but eventually admission into B-School is dependent on various factors such as your academic records, your entrance test scores, your overall profile in terms of work experience if any, extra-curricular activities you have been involved in, of course there are written test, gd , personal interview etc,
so you can opt for MBA, leave behind the past, as in what are the things you don't have any control, you can still work towards your aspirations, if you get placed in good B-School, perform well, also your concern regarding placement will be taken care of, of course all these won't be a cake walk, at all,
you have to put in efforts, say you're interested in marking , then learn more about this field, through online courses, pursue internships, gain experience etc, also think about the exams you want to appear for, shortlist your dream B-Schools, and work towards the same,
repeating graduation even from a reputed university like DU after already being a graduate will be a sheer waste of time, and three years is long period, moreover time is precious, so stop bothering about what already happened, if possible look forward for higher studies, meanwhile do internships gain experience, earn skillsets, today there are various channels to help you out regarding this, build your profile, focus on things that require improvements, and you have control over, have belief in yourself, perseverance will surely pay off.
