Hi there,

hope you are doing well.

I am sorry to say but with 80 percentile you won't be able to get a seat in any of NITs.

For almost all NITs and GFTIs, the closing rank is around 35-40k for the general category, which is around 96 percentile in CRL.

So you won't be able to get a seat.

Let me tell you.

Total seats in NITs are aprox 16500.

There is reservation of 7.5% for st (1250 seat), 15% for sc (2500) 27%obc (4500) and left 8250 are unreserved. There are some students who go for drop or take admission in iit, or other private college after perfoming good in jee main.so you need to have less than 25000 rank for general, 7000 obc rank, 4000sc rank, 2500 for st rank, if you want to get good seat in good NIT and good branch.

For general crossponding percentile(if 875000 student took exam) is 97.25

Hello Dear

Based upon your fetched percentile in the JEE mains entrance exam you won't be able to take the admission in any of the respective NITs or any of the Central funded Technical University since your percentile is less than the cuttoff which is 89 this year, but anyways you can still go with the option private institution as well who are accepting the JEE mains rank/score such that you can take the best engineering institute.
