Around two lakh students appear every year for the CAT conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIM). However, only a few thousand candidates manage to qualify for the exam and make it to IIMs.
There are 20 IIMs all over India, and each one has different admission criteria.
The basic admission criteria is that you must have a Bachelors Degree with at least 50% marks (for General category) and 45% (for SC, ST and PWD category) or equivalent CGPA from any recognised university. If you really want to get into IIMs then study hard, so that you can reach the eligibility criteria. And yes it is possible to score 60%, only if you can study hard, and concentrate on your
goal.
Not only the CAT examination, but also there are another rounds for short listing students, that is written ability test and PI.
