Hi, I'm student from andhra pradesh and from ST category. I got 90 marks in ntse stage- 1. Will I qualify for stage- 2 examination...?
Dear Aspirant
NTSE 2021 cut off for stage 1 is decided on the basis of the number of students, difficulty level and other factors.
The passing marks for the exam is follows :
Category | MAT (out of 100) | SAT (out of 100) |
General/OBC | 40% | 40% |
SC/ST/PH | 32% | 32% |
According to last year cut off of Andhra Pradesh the cut off for ST category was for stage 1 was 143, an in 2019 it was 137. So looking at previous year trends the marks that you scored might not be enough for you to qualify for the second stage.
All the best!
Hello Aspirant,
See on such score you can easily qualify NTSE stage 1 but have no chances of being shortlisted for stage 2 because last year the cut-off for shortlisting of candidate for stage 2 from Andhra Pradesh was 143 for ST category.
NTSE Andhra Pradesh expected cut-off for 2021 :-
Category | Cutoff |
General | 167 |
SC | 146 |
ST | 143 |
OBCNC | 158 |
EWS | 155 |
PH | 68 |
So it shows that you have no chances to be qualified for stage 2 but still we have to wait because the cut-off mentioned above is the last year cut-off.
Cut off depends upon various factors such as the difficulty level of stage 1 exam, AP State quota, number of students appeared in the stage 1 exam, last year's NTSE AP cutoff and so on.
