Dear aspirant,
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
JEE Mains are now conducted 4 times a year and a candidate can attempt all the four attempts. The best of all will be considered for the final rank list.
Only those students who qualify JEE Mains and come under the top 2,50,000 ranks can attempt JEE Advanced.
Studying the basic concepts of eleventh and twelfth is the most important criteria to crack these exams. Apart from the NCERT text books, one can refer other books also.
For physics, one can refer Concepts of Physics by HC Verma. Organic chemistry by OP Tandon can be used for chemistry. Objective mathematics by RD Sharma can be used for maths. For other books, you can refer the following link.

Practicing previous year questions can help a great deal.
Dedicated studying can help you to crack these exams.
Hope this helps.
All the best!
For advance you should prepare harder that's it.
