Hello.
The official cutoffs for Jee Advanced will be released by the NTA after the conclusion of the April session of the exam. The expected cutoff is about 85 percentile. So, unfortunately your ward may not qualify for the Jee Advanced, but there may be a chance under the category cutoffs. Since NTA will be considering only the best of the two scores of the Jee mains, your ward could try to improve their performance in the April session of the exam.
Good luck!
The jee main 2019 January session's cutoff is not yet published.Eventhough based on previous year trends shows the cutoff will be near 85 percentile for a general candidate. So chances are less for your ward to get qualified. He could try in the April session to get qualified.
Best of luck
