The provisional shortlist means you've been be invited for Group Discussion/Personal Interview round. The total marks will be calculated after adding your preliminary+GD/PI marks and then the final merit list will be prepared. If you did perform well in your GD/PI, you'll have a high chance of being getting selected without an issue.

However, if your preliminary score is too high then it's just a formality and you're already there. If you fall short then you're name will not appear in the final merit list.
