Hello aspirant
To get admission in government college for NITs, IITs, CFTIs , candidate must have obtained 75% in board or be amongst 20 percentile of their respective boards. For SC/ St category at least 65% of marks are required . Along with that candidate must have been qualified in JEE main.
Now it is difficult to say what will be exact cut off for jee main. Jee main April session is yet to commence so cut off depend on over all result of January and April session.
there will be two cut offs of JEE main - qualifying and admission cut off. The qualifying cut off Jee main is the minimum marks that have to be scored to qualify for jee advanced. But this cut off will be released after jee main April results are out.
Now the admission cut off of JEE main 2020 will be minimum rank that have to be secured to have higher chances of admission admission into the participating institutes.
The cut off will be different for different categories, courses, institutes.

Assuming you're from general category, so for general category getting your rank under 28,000 would get you into government colleges. Try to keep it below 20,000 to get admission into great colleges among India.
According to the formula then,
Rank=(100-percentile)*8690.10
You need to get atleast 96.5 percentile to get into government colleges(General category).
