Hi, This is Bidroha Keshari Panda a diploma mechanical engineer. I have completed 3 year diploma in mechanical engineering. what are the qualifications required to me so that I could prepare for civil services.
If you want appeare for civil services examination i.e UPSC then first of all you need to
- be a graduate in any discipline and
- at least 21 years old,
So now that you have completed your diploma you need to pursue graduation in any subject and complete it to be eligible for civil services examination
And then you can appear in civil services examination i.e UPSC, whic has 3 stages which are listed below :-
- The first stage of the exam is Preliminary examination (objective )
- The second stage, Mains (written).
- If you manage to clear both prelims and mains then you are to go through interview/personality test .
And if you managed to clear all the three rounds mentioned above, then congratulations you may become an officer.

In order to appear for UPSC Civil Service, you need to attain 21 years age and complete graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, there's no specific aggregate required in this case, you can also apply in the final year of graduation. As you mentioned you've done diploma in mechanical engineering, you can complete your BTech through lateral entry in order to be eligible for UPSC, or you need to pursue graduation in any of your favorite subjects as eligibility of UPSC is based on graduation, and diploma studients can't apply for this.
