Hello Khachitri,

Symbiosis International University conducts SET or Symbiosis Eligibility Test annually for admissions in UG courses offered by SIU affiliated institutes. It is an online, National-level entrance exam.

Previously called SET Law Test is now known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT).

This exam screens the eligible aspirants for admission into undergraduate law programs such as B.A. L.L.B and B.B.A. L.L.B at three Symbiosis Law School Campuses at Pune, Noida, and Hyderabad.

As per the Symbiosis SET 2019 guidelines, the eligibility criteria for appearing in SLAT includes:

  • 10+2 pass or equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade (40% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes).

.

.

.

Structure of SLAT consists of 5 sections, each section comprising of 30 questions, each question bearing 1 point. Hence, the total marks of the exam: 30*5=150 marks. Duration of the exam is 2.5 hours or 150 minutes.

SLAT Pattern

:

  • Logical Reasoning

  • Legal Reasoning

  • Analytical Reasoning

  • Reading Comprehension

  • General Knowledge

SLAT tests the speed and accuracy of the candidate, both of which goes hand in hand. It is essential that one get correct solutions without compromising the time limit, for which they should always attempt the easy and sure questions first so that the time saved here can be invested in relatively difficult questions. Moreover, it is best to not risk your time in questions you are not too sure about and because there's no negative marking for wrong answers, one can play guessing game for those questions at last minute. Time management is a necessary skill too, which can only be gained with consistent practice.

ATQ, you want to know the syllabus of General Knowledge section, which is:

  • International events

  • UN bodies

  • Major developments in the areas of sports, geopolitics and important environmental agreements

  • Current affairs

  • Eminent personalities

  • Sports

  • Awards and honors

General Knowledge section is a challenging section, mostly because it has a vast syllabus which consists of both latent and current gk. But fear not as practice and a daily dose of gk should help you cover this section just fine.
