Hi,i just wanted to know what are the things i should take to aims girls hostel mandya???
Room has a bed with mattress, an almirah, a table, a chair, a closet and/or a rack for books. There is no restriction about installing washing machine, desktop, AC, cooler etc. There is a lavatory with two bathrooms with showers and two toilets (one Indian and one English) for 9–10 students. Hot water is available in both winters (electric geyser) and summers (solar geyser).
There are two types of mess, general mess and private mess.
General mess is like room service of hotels. You can call them and get food delivered to your room, or can go there and eat. You can either pay while ordering, or have a monthly account. Menu changes considerably and more options are available. There are three general mess: in hostel 5, 7 and 8.
In private mess, you have to make an account and pay a sum of 3000 rupees as security fee. There is a fixed menu. Food is cheaper, and usually homely. You have to pay the bill monthly. There are 4 of them: two in hostel 4, one each in hostel 1 and 2.
Other than that, we have a juice corner, a coffee spot, a lipton tea point, and a general store, where you can buy edibles plus items of daily need.
B.B. Dikshit Library is open 24*7, except national holidays. There are a lot of books, and nearly 100 people can sit there. Wifi is available, and online journals are available free of cost.
AIIMS wifi allows unlimited data. Facebook, youtube, twitter and quora are blocked from morning 8 till evening 8. Wifi is restricted to 1 device per user. Speed is variable, from less than 0.5 Mbps to 16 Mbps, averaging near 4 Mbps.
There are many stray dogs. Monkeys create a lot of nuisance in the campus.
There is a basketball court, cricket nets, tennis lawn, 3 badminton courts, gym, table tennis tables etc. Two recreation rooms are present with chess, carrom, foosball, punching bag etc. Three TV rooms are present with subscription to sports channels.
For literary enthusiasts, there is a separate library called pageturners’ library with more than 600 novels.
There is a music room too
The environment is healthy and competitive. You will get a nice peer here. Senior-junior interaction is best in AIIMS, with no concept of sir/madam. Batches are small and everyone is a hosteler with no day scholars, hence friendship bonds are stronger.
We also have a socio cultural festival Pulse in the month of September, and an infest during April.
When you’ll join AIIMS, seniors will start interacting with you from day 1, maybe even before day 1 via facebook or whatsapp. They’ll help you with studies a lot.
