M.tech is a 2 years post graduation degree and has a vast scope not only in India but in foreign countries as well. Companies working in transportation planning gives a lot of weightage to students who have completed master's degree than those who have completed UG even from IITs or NITs. Masters in Transportation is favorable for a company engaged in pavement design and transportation planning. You will trained for 2 years particularly for this domain only. You will have an opportunity to go to R& D for research, if you are interested. You can further go for PhD in any interested subject/topic.
