Hi dear,

The National Entrance Screening Test (popularly known as NEST ) is an annual college entrance examination in India, conducted for admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar (NISER) and the Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai.

The question paper consists of five sections. The five sections in the NEST 2020 paper are- General Aptitude, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Each section in the question paper is 50 marks except General Aptitude which consists of 30 marks.

  • Candidates have the freedom to choose any one of the four sections- Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry
  • The maximum marks a candidate can score are 180 marks.
  • Only the three sections with the highest scores are considered for merit calculation.
  • Section one of General Aptitude is mandatory for all the students.
  • NEST syllabus contains 11 th and 12 th grade level Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
  • There is no fixed syllabus for the General Aptitude section.

preparing tips:-

Read all basic books like NCERT(specially of chemistry)

The syllabus of NEST is similar to JEE ADVANCED and the lavel of questions are of nearly same lavel as well.

Read and consult one book thoroughly. Solve previous years JEE and NEST papers . Also follow some test series(eg. FIITJEE).

All the best.

Thank you
