CPT is an entrance exam required to be cleared to pursue the course of Chartered Accountancy.
You must have strong base of knowledge about all the subjects of CPT like Accounts, economics, Maths, statistics, law.
CA CPT exam will be conducted in four parts i.e. Part 1 - Fundamentals of Accounting and Mercantile Laws, Part 2 - Mercantile Laws, Part 3 - General Economics and Part 4 - Quantitative Aptitude.
The test for two parts will be taken in the first session and test for other two will be taken in the second session. Thus, there will be two question papers which have to be attempted by the candidates in two sessions on the same day.
The question paper carries 200 objective type questions for a total of 200 marks
For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the maximum obtained.

Few Preparations Tips :-
If you have Maths background with commerce you should not have much problem in the Maths and statistics section. And if you have such background you should double work on it. The basics of Accounts should be good. The thorough learning and reading of Law sections and provisions will help you out.
At last you can clear it if you have a maths background. If not do take a guidance. Practice more and more questions which will prepare you out for the exam.
Prepare a plan and stick to it .
Accounts- At last, take a book of Accounting and start at zero so that you can get all the significant points with ease. If you are from a science background so first try to know the concepts of debit and credits along with its equation. Accounting is not an easy subject so make a schedule of it and cover all the topics one by one.
Most importantly study with planning. Don't haphazardly study anything Make a system and then adhere to it
The more you practice the more things would make sense.
