Hii,
The placenta is an endocrine gland that is only present during pregnancy . it produces hormones including :
- human chorionic gonadotropin ( hCG )this is the first hormone released by the placenta,
- progesterone ,
- estrogen, and
- human placental lactogen ( hPL ).
