B.V.Sc. and AH: Admission Process
Admission to veterinary colleges is generally based on the class 12 results. Apart from this, certain universities conduct entrance examination for the above mentioned course. Veterinary Council of India is in charge of conducting an 'All India Common Entrance examination' (AICEE). This is an all India level test taken by students for admission to undergraduate course like Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) & Animal Husbandry (AH). Students can give this exam in the month of May each year.
Some common entrance exams taken for admission in bvsc abd ah courses and in lieu of this course are:
AIPVT: All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is conducted by the Veterinary Council of India. The test is vouched by candidates seeking admissions into veterinary courses like B.V.SC. and A.H. The allotment of seats consist of 15% of all India seats (the state of Jammu and Kashmir is an exception) and 85% of the state quota seats in a particular state. The exam takes place once in a year in the second week of May.
JCECE: Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination is a nationwide exam held yearly by Jharkhand Combined Entrance examination board.
