Being one of the top NITs , NIT Trichy is not bad for production engineering.  Placements are pretty good. So join if you don't get any other good branches. The highes package of production engineering branch is about 8-10 lacs per annum. The average salary offered here is around 5-5.25 lakhs per annum. But if you go for jobs in coding and software then you can get more salary packages as well.
