The category is decided as per your rank in VITEEE as well as the number of seats the course has.

A detailed description for the categories of admission for each branch as decided by VIT is as follows:

1. After you give the entrance exam of VIT (VITEEE) they release the cut-off list.

2. If your rank lies within the cut-off rank then, you are eligible to go to counselling on the date and round mentioned in the cutoff list(eg. 12/09/2020 Round 1) along with all the documents mentioned on their site.

3. The date and round are arranged as per the rank secured by the candidate in the VITEEE examination.

4. The placement for all the four campuses is centralized, so you can visit any of the campus as per your convenience and get admission in any of the campuses.

5. Now, once you reach the college at the allotted time you will be called rank wise.

6. When your turn will come then you can choose the campus and branch you want to enroll in(PS - you will only be able to select the campus and branch when seats are left in that particular domain).

7. Now based on your campus and branch selection your rank and number of seats in the particular course would be checked. As per that the category would be decided.
